When fault-finding, it's often a good idea to forget about all the 'personalities' etc etc, and just patch a full dimmers through the whole universe. As ever CPC is your friend Phase Invertors - I have a good stock of these now and hope never to have to open another 3-pin XLR again and yes I know DMX standard doesn't support 3 pin but have you ever found a 5 pin with the wrong polarities?! Something does not work as expected?

I managed to get Daslight Virtual Controller to communicate with the Icolours after choosing a different model from the library they eventually worked. Do not ask for help in this forum, use the Fixture Help forum instead.
I don't know these scanners, but the fact that they all do nothing and claim to be getting nothing implies that they are getting data completely outside what they expect. Even better if it's your own equipment then open it up and swap the pins yourself, but make sure you label it for anyone else that uses it in future! Find out what you can do. Incidentally does anyone know of a desk that will invert the output of it's pins? Assuming that they are correctly addressed - try addressing everything to 1 and see what happens.
